A collaboration between three highly talented individuals – a love of the West Coast of Scotland, an admiration for the elegance of the Orient and the dedication to perfect the art and science of their craft.
Kate is an innovative and highly talented artist, specialising in Fine Art and Printmaking. Over the last 20 years, Kate’s work has been inspired and influenced by both the wild, rugged beauty of the West Coast of Scotland and the elegant intricacy of the Orient.
Steve started his journey with design/craftsmanship in the 70s, making furniture in Shropshire, initially to help ‘make ends meet’.
Thirty years later, after a career in medical science, Steve married Ruth Ingela and her passion for aesthetics re-ignited his interest in art and furniture. ‘Ingela’ introduced Steve to Kate at her studio on Mull, where he was bowled over by her designs.
Several years later, following Ingela’s untimely death, ‘Ingelas Islands’ was born, and Kate and Steve began to work collaboratively.
Laima is a very talented designer and the brains behind our more intricate and innovative frame designs. Originally from Lithuania, Laima moved to the West Coast of Scotland in 2010 and fell in love with the wilderness and beauty of the ‘end of the world’.
Joining our team at Ingelas Islands in early 2018, Laima drew on her high-end fashion design background to further influence and inspire the development of our fusional art, by introducing innovative and beautiful frame designs.
